PR Tips for New Restaurants, Cafés and Eateries

To really get your restaurant to stand out from the competition, you’ll need to start an interesting and comprehensive PR campaign. With that in mind, here are a few PR tips you should try in order to get people buzzing:

Detailed Press Releases

When sending out press releases, be as detailed as possible. Nothing keeps a story out of a magazine or paper like lack of detail. On a related note, make sure that you are always available for any follow-up questions journalists may have.

Naturally, you’ll also want to tell a fantastic story, not just a presentation of facts. Take readers on a culinary journey, if you will. This should pique the curiosity of potential customers and fill more than a few tables.

Offer Free Taste Samples

Nothing attracts people’s attention more than free food. Choose two or three of your best dishes and hand out free samples during a large-scale event in your local community. For better results, try handing out coupons for discounts, or for a free appetiser. Similarly, you could also apply to be one of the sponsors of a particular event.

Take Advantage of Social Media

Social media is a powerful tool for reaching out to both existing and potential customers. Encourage people to connect with you over a variety of social media networks. Anytime you are mentioned on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, acknowledge it and thank the customer. Run a few social media contests. Simply put, social media is your best friend.
