The Art and Science of Fashion and Lifestyle PR

To the trained eye, fashion and lifestyle design is an art form. It expresses creativity, innovation, and even moods or emotions. In fact, the two fields have both become full-blown industries today, with either freelance or company-employed professionals engaging in healthy discussions on the latest trends and breakthroughs.

Fashion would not experience the glory it knows today without publicity. This is where PR (public relations) comes in. Fashion and lifestyle PR is a sub-genre of the communication profession that’s quickly gaining popularity, mainly because of the glamour associated with it.

So, what exactly do fashion and lifestyle publicists do? They handle brand images, media correspondence, social media visibility, magazine credits – you name it; everything media-related goes through them. We are the conduit between the journalist and the brand. Managing all of these aspects simultaneously requires immense experience and expertise from a practitioner, and a passion for the field counts as a vital boost.

Although it may appear very dazzling to an unfamiliar soul, this job is actually far from easy. It requires long hours of tedious work and keen attention to detail, not to mention creativity. This is one of the reasons most practitioners say that in order to be really successful on the job, experience in both PR and journalism is a must.

Fancy enhancing your company’s PR? Don’t worry. It will be tough – but you will never be alone, as long as you have a PR company with a great track record on your side.
